Man, last night was very interesting. Fun, but interesting... I went to my cousin Jason's wedding, and to make things short, the food was good, the meatballs were exquisite, and the beer was flowing. I talked to this guy who graduated from ND for a really long time, and he says he's gonna call me at 7 in the morning before the MSU game to make me come to kegs & eggs. A few more beer later, I went out on the dance floor with my other plastered relatives, and even got my mom to dance to Baby Got Back. So all in all, a good night, although I was surprised to find that my tolerance was greatly lowered.
In other news, I may get ahold of the new Harry Potter book at the end of the week as soon as brother Alan's girlfriend gets finished with it. I was reading that the Pope thinks those books interfere with a child's ability to establish a right relationship with God. In my opinion, I don't think it's good to ban books from your children. I think it's better to let them be exposed to things, and as the priest at my church last week said, doubt is an important part of faith. Only by doubt can your faith become stronger, at least in my opinion. You can't shelter your kids forever, and if they want to read a children's book, then by golly, I will let them. I grew up reading goosebumps, fear street, (not to mention Baby Sitter's Club--gasp!) and other children's literature, which could also be argued to mess up little kids' minds, but I think any reading is a good thing. My dad never let me go into the occult section of the bookstore, but I know I'm smart enough to be able to read about wicca without actually joining. It's at least good to be educated. That's another thing...people who think they know, but don't really take the time to actually research because they just "know" it is wrong. I once did a report on Saneria. I actually thought some of their beliefs were rather interesting. It's also good to talk to people who have a different religion than you because it makes you want to research your own more. ANYWAY
I'm finished with that. I am sooo glad I actually get a whole day off. It is exciting. And I am going to Stepho's tonight, and hopefully that will be awesome. I have high expectations because of "Captain penetration" aka hXc Brian. oh well, bye for now!
